About the Opportunity

Our client, a reputable long-term care home in Chatham, Ontario, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Executive Director (ED) to lead the daily operations, strategic direction, and overall performance of their community.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations

Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure high-quality resident care and an exceptional workplace culture.

Oversee all departments, including nursing, dietary, recreation, environmental services, and administration.

Ensure the home’s operations align with the organization’s mission, values, and compliance requirements under the Fixing Long-Term Care Act (2021).

Maintain financial accountability, including budgeting, resource allocation, and performance reporting.

Support the Director of Care and interdisciplinary leadership team to ensure effective planning, service delivery, and performance management.
Resident & Family Experience

Foster a compassionate, inclusive environment that prioritizes dignity, respect, and resident-centered care.

Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, and community partners.

Ensure transparency and communication through regular meetings, updates, and family engagement initiatives.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Improvement

Ensure the home meets or exceeds all Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC) standards and accreditation requirements.

Lead audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery and operational performance.

Promote safety, accountability, and excellence across all departments.
Team Development & Culture

Lead, coach, and inspire a multidisciplinary team to achieve professional growth and exceptional outcomes.

Support staff engagement, training, and retention strategies to foster a supportive and empowered workplace.

Champion continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration throughout the organization.
Qualifications

Post-secondary degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business, or a related field.

Minimum 5–7 years of leadership experience in long-term care or senior living environments.

Strong knowledge of Ontario’s LTC legislation, quality standards, and compliance processes.

Proven ability to manage budgets, strategic initiatives, and interdisciplinary teams.

Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated commitment to resident-centered care and operational integrity.
-
Long-Term Care Administrator’s Certification (preferred or willingness to obtain).
